Blue Lagoon

Thursday we went to the Blue Lagoon. The drive
was incredible. We’ve traveled over lava rock before
but this was way different. The landscape which
seemed like moonscape was surreal. Our own
“land rover” just hopping along.

We stopped at a geothermal area. Lots of hot
springs and stinking sulfur. Such a lot of energy
not being harvested. Our tour guide said
electricity is inexpensive in Iceland because they
have so much naturally available.

The Blue Lagoon was really neat. I tested the
water and outside it was cool but in swimming
area it was very warm.

We got to see a lot of different areas of Iceland
and it was a nice place to visit but much too cold
for living there.
